Product Description
Function:
The cone sensor must to be exposed to the material. The bulk goods, being dumped beside the pendulum, move the pendulum more aside as the filling level increases. This movement, approximetly 10 of the rod- sensor, activates the switch for the full indication.
When the filling level falls, the pendulum moves back in the vertical position and the switch is disengaged.
The model MS SR has a regulation system by a spring that allows the adjusment of the sensitivity. Tightening the regulation nut to reduce the sensitivity and increase the strain of the material to activate the microswitch. Clockwise insensitive.
Mechanical connection:
Drill 4 holes in the steel plate built it in the top of the silo or vessel and mount the indicator using screws, rods, fasteners or nuts M6 making sure of the verical position of the rod and ensure that the device is at same level of the silo ground.
Robust Construction for Industrial UseDesigned with a durable aluminium housing and stainless steel shaft, the ATEX Pendulum Level Switch withstands harsh environments common in industrial solid storage. Its IP65 ingress protection defends against dust and water, ensuring reliable performance in demanding settings such as silos, hoppers, and bins.
Flexible Installation and CustomizationWith a range of mounting options-flange or screw-and a customizable shaft length (from 250 mm to 2000 mm), this switch adapts to different silo and bin dimensions. The two M20 cable entries support straightforward cable gland and terminal connections, facilitating easy integration in existing systems.
Precise and Immediate Level MonitoringUtilizing a mechanical pendulum principle, the switch instantly detects solid media contact, signaling via SPDT relay with high accuracy (5 mm). It supports wide operational ranges, including up to 95% humidity and temperatures from -20C to +60C, making it suitable for diverse process requirements.
FAQ's of ATEX Pendulum Level Switch:
Q: How does the ATEX Pendulum Level Switch detect material levels in industrial applications?
A: The switch operates on a mechanical pendulum principle; when the stored product contacts the pendulum shaft, the motion triggers a change in the SPDT relay, providing immediate level indication. This direct mechanical process ensures rapid detection and response for powders, granules, or grains.
Q: What mounting and shaft options are available for installation?
A: The device can be mounted using either flange or screw types to suit various container designs. The stainless steel shaft is customizable from 250 mm up to 2000 mm, accommodating differing mounting heights in bins, silos, or hoppers.
Q: When should this level switch be considered over other technologies?
A: You should choose the ATEX Pendulum Level Switch when you require a robust, mechanical solution for immediate level detection in hazardous or dusty environments, especially where ATEX certification and solid material handling are needed.
Q: Where can the ATEX Pendulum Level Switch be used?
A: It is suited for solids level detection in diverse industrial settings such as grain silos, powder bins, and granule hoppers, especially in environments where ATEX II 2D compliance is required. Its atmospheric pressure and wide temperature range make it broadly applicable.
Q: What is the process for electrical connection and integration?
A: The switch is equipped with two M20 cable entries for secure cable gland or terminal connections. It supports 230 V AC or 24 V DC power supply and can be easily integrated into control systems using its SPDT relay output.
Q: How does using this level switch benefit industrial operators?
A: Operators benefit from its immediate mechanical response, high measurement accuracy (5 mm), reliable performance in harsh or hazardous settings, and simplified installation. Its ATEX certification offers additional safety assurance for explosive dust atmospheres.
